Environmental Engineer

Job Description:

ARM Group is seeking an Environmental Engineer for one of its multinational clients in Barnwell, SC.

Purpose of the Job:

The purpose of the Environmental Engineer is to implement and maintain company policies, adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.

#Salary Range – $100K-$140K/Annually

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum (3) years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the wood industry.
  • Minimum (3) years of environmental compliance experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, maintain, and update environmental policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
  • Serves as contact with all Federal, State, and Local regulatory bodies.
  • Identifies, assesses, and resolves problems concerning the environment.
  • May design, install, operate, and maintain measuring apparatus to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land, and water.
  • Performs experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures.
  • Ensures the organization’s conformance to federal, state, and local environmental legislation.
  • Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge.

Education and Technical Skills Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • CEP certifications are preferred.
  • Goals should be communicated in “solution” or project goal terms.
  • May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in specialization.

Environment and Behavioral Profile:

  • Must be able to work autonomously.
  • Must be able to interface with others at all levels, from executive to hourly.
  • Must be available to support 24/7/365 manufacturing operations.
  • Anticipate changes – assess the situation by stepping back, identify conditions to implement solutions, identify consequences, and assess/analyze risks
  • Agility in execution – take initiative, move into action quickly once decisions are made, adapt your working mode to take into account changes
