Job Description:
The ARM Group is looking to hire a Full-Time, Wastewater Treatment Operator (Class – B Certification – MUST) for one of our leading manufacturing clients in Charleston, SC

#Pay: $28 – $31/Hour
#Class – B Certification – MUST
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and operate wastewater treatment processes including Activated Sludge, Trickling Filters, RBCs, Sludge Digestion, Nitrification/Denitrification, and Phosphorus Removal.
- Oversee plant operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate staff activities and work with cross-functional departments.
- Operate heavy equipment (tanker trucks, sludge removal systems) and manage chemical handling activities.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Active Class B Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification.
- Strong experience in wastewater treatment plant operations and process control.
- Hands-on knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
- Mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and plumbing systems.
- Understanding of water quality standards, environmental regulations, and compliance reporting.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, process adjustments, and inventory management.
- Ability to safely operate heavy machinery, perform heavy lifting, and execute basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Background:
- Several years of experience operating and maintaining industrial or municipal wastewater treatment facilities.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot treatment processes and optimize plant performance while maintaining regulatory compliance.
