Software Engineer — Junior, Mid-Level, Senior and Staff

Compensation
- Junior Software Engineer: $200,000
- Mid-Level Software Engineer: $230,000
- Senior Software Engineer: $285,000
- Staff Software Engineer: $325,000
About the Role
Our prestigious client is hiring ambitious software engineers who want to build and own products in a fast-moving AI startup environment.
This is a full-stack, product-focused role where engineers work across frontend, backend and cloud infrastructure. You will own features from the initial idea through development, deployment and iteration while working directly with customers and the company’s founders.
The environment is high-intensity, fast and experimental. Engineers must be comfortable moving quickly, making decisions with incomplete information and solving problems without waiting for detailed requirements.
Responsibilities
- Build and launch new products and features from zero to one
- Develop applications using React, TypeScript and Python
- Deploy and maintain applications and infrastructure on AWS
- Own products and features from concept through production deployment
- Work across frontend, backend and cloud infrastructure
- Speak directly with customers to understand their operational needs
- Turn customer feedback into product improvements
- Debug and resolve issues across unfamiliar areas of the codebase
- Make technical and product decisions in ambiguous situations
- Move quickly and iterate without sacrificing product quality
- Work closely with the founders and broader engineering team
Technical Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, Python and AWS
- Experience building and deploying full-stack products
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership, including design, development, deployment and iteration
- Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work across frontend, backend and infrastructure
- Experience building products from zero to one
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly
Candidates must demonstrate relevant experience through at least one of the following:
- Self-initiated products or applications
- Early-stage startup employment
- Startup internships
- Founding or entrepreneurial projects
- Hackathon projects
- Open-source products
- Applications launched and used by real customers or users
Listing React, TypeScript, Python and AWS as skills is not sufficient. Candidates must be able to explain what they personally built, which technologies they used and what they owned from beginning to end.

- Comfortable working approximately 60 hours per week

- Comfortable with a fast, experimental and sometimes “hacky” development style

- Willing to take ownership without waiting for detailed instructions
- Motivated by building, learning and creating customer impact
- Comfortable speaking directly with customers and users
- Interested in working across the stack rather than remaining within one specialty
Preferred Background
- Computer Science degree from a highly regarded university
- Previous experience at a talent-dense or early-stage startup
- Founded or attempted to build a company
- Built and launched an independent product with real users
- Participated in hackathons, entrepreneurship clubs or technical competitions
- Participated in a venture capital, founder or startup fellowship
- Created meaningful open-source software
- Demonstrated unusual commitment to mastering a difficult technical or personal project
