Job Description:
The ARM Group is hiring Full-Time, Set-Up Technicians (Level 2 & Level 3) for a leading client in Gray Court, SC.

#Pay Range: $33.91–$36.58/Hour (Based on Level & Experience) + $1:00 /Hour Off-Shift Premium / $1.5 – Over 40 Hours
#Shift: 1st Shift – 6 AM – 2 PM / 2nd – 2 PM – 10 PM / 3rd – 10 PM – 6 AM (7Working Days/Per Week – For Few Initial Months – May Be 2-3 Months)
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Position Summary:
- Responsible for setup, operation, and optimization of CNC, conventional, and robotic metal-cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machines (CNC, hobbing, turning, honing, lapping, laser welding)
- Perform tool changes, changeovers, and first-piece inspections
- Read blueprints and setup sheets; adjust speeds, feeds, and tooling
- Modify and optimize CNC programs (G & M code) and machining sequences
- Ensure quality, dimensional accuracy, and gage integrity
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions
- Support process improvements and production efficiency
- Maintain coolant systems and ensure compliance with ISO/TS standards
- Communicate machine issues with maintenance teams
- Train junior technicians (as needed)
Areas Of Expertise Include (Any 3-4 Required):
- Turning Centers (Weisser & Felsomat or Equivalent)
- Gear Grinders (Reischauer or Equivalent)
- Gear Hobbing
- Machine Controllers (Siemens or Equivalent)
- Robotic Part Movement/Automation System (Felsomat, Kuka, Cobots or Equivalent)
- Gear Measurement / Quality Control (Klingelnberg gear charting, or Equivalent)
- Lock-Out / Tag-Out Training
Essential Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED + Associate’s Degree (Technical) OR 5+ years relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining & programming (G & M Code)
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems
- Experience with PLC logic and automated equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings & GD&T
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Siemens Step 7 (PLC troubleshooting)
- CNC programming using SINUMERIC 840D
- Advanced troubleshooting (motor drives, hydraulics, pneumatics)
- Basic knowledge of robotics
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing shop floor with exposure to machinery; occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and physical activity required.
