Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. Finance Associate to join our Finance team in Chennai. This role supports U.S.-based accounting operations and requires flexibility to work in alignment with U.S. time zones. 

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in U.S. accounting standards, tax compliance, payroll, and financial reporting, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-border environment. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage daily accounting operations for U.S.-based clients or internal U.S. entities. 
  • Perform accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and journal entries. 
  • Prepare and file corporate U.S. tax returns as required. 
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IRS regulations, and applicable federal and state tax laws. 
  • Accurately process U.S. payroll and ensure adherence to all compliance requirements. 
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities and prepare supporting financial reports. 
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation. 
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, CPA firms, and auditors to resolve queries and ensure data accuracy. 
  • Support management in implementing policies, budgeting, and cost accounting. 
  • Handle banking-related activities and ensure internal controls are consistently followed. 

Must-Have Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Hands-on experience in U.S. accounting and taxation. 
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, IRS regulations, and related compliance frameworks. 
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll tools such as QuickBooks, Gusto, and Rippling (or similar), Microsoft Dynamic 365. 
  • Proven experience in U.S. payroll processing and tax filings. 
  • Good experience in U.S. sales tax filing, state-wise compliance, and multi-entity financial reporting. 
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity in all financial activities. 
  • Strong communication and documentation skills for effective coordination with global teams. 
  • Ability and willingness to work during U.S. business hours (night shifts or flexible schedule). 
  • Demonstrated ethical conduct, confidentiality, and compliance with organizational policies. 
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines, maintaining proper documentation, and ensuring timely reconciliations and filings. 
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving discrepancies or audit issues.
