The ARM Group is looking for a “Production Manager” with one of our clients in Greater Charleston area, SC with relocation assistance

Salary : $120k – $135k + 10% bonus 

Role: 

You will be responsible for driving operational excellence by ensuring safety, quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery while leading cross-functional teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in die casting manufacturing, proven leadership experience, and the ability to optimize production processes to achieve world-class manufacturing performance. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and oversee all day-to-day production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.  
  • Manage production supervisors, team leaders, and hourly associates across multiple shifts.  
  • Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand while maximizing equipment utilization.  
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and other operational excellence methodologies.  
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including OEE, productivity, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery.  
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and HR to resolve production challenges and improve operational performance.  
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.  
  • Analyze production data and implement corrective actions to eliminate bottlenecks and improve throughput.  
  • Lead root cause analysis for quality and production issues using structured problem-solving tools.  
  • Develop staffing plans, training programs, and succession planning for production personnel.  
  • Manage production budgets, labor utilization, overtime, and manufacturing costs.  
  • Support new product launches, process improvements, and capital equipment implementation.  
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, employee engagement, and continuous learning.  

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.  
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role.  
  • Mandatory experience in aluminum die casting manufacturing.  
  • Strong understanding of die casting processes, secondary machining, finishing operations, and production flow.  
  • Experience managing large production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.  
  • Demonstrated success improving productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.  
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, 5S, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.  
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning.  
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and decision-making skills.  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree is a plus.  
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.  
  • Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive manufacturing standards.  
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and other automotive quality tools.  
  • Experience supporting automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
