Job Summary
The Maintenance E/I Technician will be responsible for preventive and corrective electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and installation of plant electrical, instrumentation, controls, and related equipment.
This is a hands-on heavy industrial manufacturing position ideal for an experienced Industrial Electrician, Electrical Maintenance Technician, E&I Technician, or similar professional with strong troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Troubleshoot 12.5KV high-voltage and 480 VAC systems.
- Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls, starters, and circuits.
- Maintain and troubleshoot VFDs and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Perform minor PLC programming using ladder logic and function blocks.
- Maintain and troubleshoot overhead cranes, controls, and motors.
- Install, repair, inspect, and calibrate instrumentation and electronic equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company procedures.
- Support maintenance teams, training, special projects, and plant investigations.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of industrial/manufacturing experience or equivalent military experience.
- 2-year industrial electrical training or equivalent military training.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and maintenance experience.
- Experience with electrical distribution and motor control systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic equipment independently.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, IT systems, and databases.
Preferred Technical Experience
Experience with one or more of the following is highly valuable:
- High-voltage systems (12.5KV) and 480 VAC
- AC/DC motor controls and motor starters
- VFDs and PLC troubleshooting/programming
- Ladder logic and function block programming
- Industrial instrumentation and calibration
- Overhead cranes and wound-rotor motors
- Heavy industrial manufacturing equipment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Climb stairs/ladders and work at heights.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined/awkward positions.
- Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Work safely around noise, dust, heat, chemicals, and moving equipment.
- Safely operate mobile equipment and cranes as required.
