The ARM Group is looking to hire a Full-Time, Lead Design Engineer for one of our leading cutosmers in Denton , TX

Department: R&D
Reporting To: Section Head – Die Design

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for driving innovative product concept development aligned with the evolving automotive industry’s demand for high-efficiency and low-emission powertrain solutions. The position ensures integration of design-for-manufacturing principles, enabling the organization to provide end-to-end product development solutions that deliver cost, time, and performance advantages to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers during early project phases to understand product functionality, technical requirements, and performance expectations.
  • Develop innovative and feasible 3D product concepts that deliver value through weight reduction, functional integration, and cost optimization.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, PED, NPD, QA, Production) to validate product feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including drawings and presentations, and present product concepts to customers.
  • Contribute technical inputs and innovative proposals during RFQ processes to enhance competitiveness, including for build-to-print projects.
  • Conduct benchmarking and technical studies to identify improvement opportunities and support solution development.
  • Lead new product design initiatives and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders such as suppliers, workshops, and academic partners.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product design, with strong knowledge of engineering mechanics (strength, durability, stiffness, NVH) and CAD-based design.

  • Strong expertise in product design and engineering mechanics.
  • Knowledge of casting, machining, assembly, and process design.
  • Project management capability and execution discipline.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and business acumen.
  • Analytical, structured problem-solving approach with familiarity in innovation techniques.

Working Relationships

  • Internal: R&D, PED, NPD, QA, Purchasing, Operations, and senior technical leadership.
  • External: Customers, suppliers, and academic/research partners for technical validation and innovation collaboration.
