The Arm Group is looking for an “Engineering Manager – Robotics Systems (System Integration + Robotics)” for one of our clients.

Job Title: Engineering Manager – Robotics Systems (System Integration + Robotics)
Location: Japan
Salary Range: 16M – 17M JPY
Experience Required: 7–10 years.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead robotics systems integration efforts, combining advanced robotics software with real-world hardware systems. This role requires strong expertise in ROS-based systems, distributed robotics, and deployment of scalable robotic solutions in production environments. The ideal candidate will bring direct experience in warehouse robotics or automation systems and a strong system-level engineering mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end robotics system integration (hardware + software)
• Design, develop, and deploy robotics solutions using ROS1/ROS2 frameworks
• Manage and optimize distributed robotic systems and multi-robot coordination
• Oversee deployment pipelines using Docker and containerization technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and operations
• Ensure successful deployment and performance of robotics systems in real-world environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues across robotics platforms
• Drive continuous improvement in system architecture, scalability, and reliability
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 7–10 years of experience in robotics engineering or system integration
• Strong hands-on experience with ROS1 and/or ROS2
• Proven experience integrating robotics software with physical hardware systems
• Experience with distributed robotic systems or fleet management
• Proficiency in Docker and containerized deployment environments
• Experience in warehouse robotics, automation systems, AMRs, or AGVs preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex, real-world environments
• Prior experience in a technical leadership or managerial role is a plus
