Job Summary
The Director, Strategic Accounts will own and grow revenue for one or more of client’s flagship global technology accounts within the Insights & Advisory practice. This is a senior client-facing leadership role responsible for end-to-end account management, including revenue ownership, strategic account planning, executive client engagement, and oversight of complex, multi-workstream consulting programs.
The Director will serve as the primary client front-end, leading high-stakes conversations with senior client stakeholders, scoping and pitching new engagements, ensuring flawless delivery on existing commitments, and shaping long-term strategic partnerships.
This is a hybrid revenue-and-delivery leadership role suited for an experienced consulting professional who thrives at the intersection of business development, client relationship management, and intellectual leadership on complex strategic problems facing the global technology industry.
Key Responsibilities
Account Ownership & Revenue Growth
• Own revenue responsibility for one or more strategic technology accounts, including annual planning, forecasting, and delivery against revenue and margin targets
• Develop and execute multi-year strategic account plans that expand company’s footprint across business units, geographies, and service lines within each client organization
• Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities through proactive client engagement, account mining, and strategic thought partnership
• Lead the full proposal lifecycle including scoping, solutioning, pricing, commercial negotiation, and contracting, in close partnership with practice leadership
Client Relationship & Front-Ending
• Serve as the senior client front-end and trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, including VPs, SVPs, and C-suite leaders within global technology clients
• Lead client meetings, executive readouts, and strategy workshops, ensuring company is positioned as a strategic partner rather than a vendor
• Anticipate client priorities and proactively bring forward perspectives, frameworks, and recommendations that shape the client’s strategic agenda
• Manage escalations, navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, and resolve commercial or delivery issues with maturity and discretion
Engagement & Project Leadership
• Lead and provide oversight on complex, concurrent engagements spanning product marketing, competitive intelligence, pricing strategy, go-to-market planning, and emerging technology ecosystems (e.g., GenAI, cloud platforms, enterprise software)
• Set the analytical direction for engagements such as framing the problem, shaping hypotheses, structuring the approach, and ensuring the rigor and relevance of the final output
• Review and elevate executive deliverables, ensuring storytelling, insight quality, and strategic framing meet the standards expected by senior client audiences
Team Mentorship & Thought Leadership
• Lead, and coach a team of 10–15 consultants, senior consultants, and analysts, including such as capability building
• Build a high-performing, inclusive team culture that values analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, client centricity, and continuous learning
• Partner with global delivery centers and cross-regional teams to ensure seamless collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistent quality across engagements
• Partner with practice leadership on capability planning, hiring, capacity management, and strategic investments in the technology vertical
Core Competencies
• Account leadership: Proven ability to own and grow strategic accounts, including revenue planning, opportunity identification, and long-term relationship building with senior client stakeholders
• Executive presence: Strong credibility and gravitas with C-suite and senior client audiences; ability to lead high-stakes conversations and influence strategic decisions
• Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of consulting economics, pricing strategy, proposal development, and commercial negotiation
• Strategic problem-solving: Expertise in structuring ambiguous business problems, designing analytical approaches, and synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations
• People leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop multi-level consulting teams of 10+ members across geographies
• Storytelling & communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication; ability to craft compelling executive narratives and lead boardroom-level discussions
• Program management: Ability to oversee multiple concurrent complex engagements while ensuring quality, timeliness, and stakeholder alignment
• Industry depth: Deep familiarity with the global technology industry — business models, competitive dynamics, and emerging ecosystems such as GenAI, cloud, and enterprise software
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline
• 12-15+ years of experience in strategy consulting, strategic research, market intelligence, or product/market strategy roles within top-tier consulting firms, research organizations, or technology companies
