The ARM Group is looking for a BARS Line Mechanic for one of our clients in Greater Chicago Area.

Job Title: BARS Line Mechanic
Location: Greater Chicago Area
Pay Range: $35.40/hour
Shift: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift.
Experience Required: 3+ years in packaging/manufacturing maintenance


Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Line Mechanic to support BARS manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical skills and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair of packaging line equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Execute line changeovers, start-ups, and shutdowns
  • Maintain and improve equipment efficiency to minimize downtime
  • Inspect, adjust, and replace worn or defective components
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment and tools
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, including LOTO procedures
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas following GMP standards

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a maintenance or packaging line mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (motors, gearboxes, bearings)
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting and industrial equipment
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with packaging line changeovers preferred
  • Forklift experience or willingness to be trained
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
