The ARM group is hiring for “APDO Mechanics” for one of its clients in Aurora, IL

Shifts: 1^st shift (8AM -4PM) & 2^nd shift (4PM-12AM)

Pay : $28.40/hr

Summary:

APDO Mechanics supports maintenance activities in a high-speed manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on liquid filling and packaging equipment, ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment and packaging lines.
• Maintain, repair, and replace mechanical components such as gearboxes, conveyors, valves, bearings, pumps, and related equipment.
• Carry out mechanical alignment, fitting, overhauling, and installation of equipment components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes of failures, and implement corrective actions.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with electricians, operators, and production teams during maintenance activities.
• Ensure equipment reliability and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and plant safety protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

• 7–10 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with high-speed liquid filling and packaging equipment preferred.
• Experience in cosmetics, food, beverage, or similar high-speed production environments is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to work with conveyors, gearboxes, valves, bearings, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance practices and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing environment supporting high-speed production lines. The position requires hands-on mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
