The ARM Group is looking for a “APDO Line Lead” with one of our clients in Montgomery, IL

Location: Montgomery, IL

Pay rate:$30-$34.25/hr

Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Schedule: 40 hours/week; must be available to work any shift and overtime as required

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced APDO Line Lead to support the production and packaging of antiperspirant and deodorant products. This is a hands-on role responsible for operating, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining high-speed automatic and semi-automatic packaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate automatic and semi-automatic high-speed packaging equipment.
  • Set up machines and perform product/equipment changeovers.
  • Operate and troubleshoot filling and labeling equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues.
  • Troubleshoot motors, sensors, solenoids, pneumatic valves, pumps, conveyors, and other machine components.
  • Perform equipment maintenance, adjustments, and minor repairs to keep production running efficiently.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, drill presses, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Assemble and disassemble machine components and assist with pump repair.
  • Lead and direct production crew members during the shift.
  • Coordinate crew breaks, shift changes, and daily production activities.
  • Participate in daily production/tie-in meetings.
  • Follow all safety, PPE, GMP, housekeeping/5S, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe production environment.
  • Operate a forklift/fork truck and complete required training.
  • Complete required equipment operator training and assessment testing.
  • Work overtime and any assigned shift as required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with high-speed packaging equipment within the last 7 years.
  • Experience with machine setup, changeovers, and equipment maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with filling and labeling equipment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience, including motors, sensors, solenoids, and related equipment.
  • Pneumatic troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Basic machining and mechanical skills.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift/fork truck.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
  • Ability to successfully complete required assessment testing and equipment operator training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using a CMMS.
  • Experience rebuilding or overhauling packaging equipment.
  • Experience with computer-based equipment diagnostics.
  • Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience with photoelectric registration systems.
  • Basic lathe operation experience.
  • Previous Line Lead, Lead Operator, Maintenance Lead, or crew leadership experience.
