Robotics Software Engineer – Navigation

Location: Koto City, Tokyo, Japan

Salary: 7.2M – 10/11M yen

Role:

Join our robotics team to design, implement, and optimize navigation systems for wheeled mobile platforms. Work with cross-functional teams (perception, control, hardware, software) to deliver autonomous navigation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

•             Develop and maintain navigation stacks using ROS (Navigation Stack + custom solutions).

•             Implement/optimize path planning algorithms (e.g., Hybrid A*).

•             Use Docker for scalable deployment and CI/CD integration.

•             Collaborate with perception, localization, and control teams.

•             Conduct simulation and real-world testing.

•             Stay updated with latest research and propose new approaches.

•             Document architecture, design, and performance.

Requirements:

•             Master’s in Robotics/CS or related field.

•             5+ years software development experience.

•             Strong ROS experience (ROS1/ROS2), navigation stack, and path planning.

•             Proficiency in C++ and Python.

•             Hands-on with Linux, Docker, CI/CD.

•             Independent, proactive, and tech-driven.

Preferred:

•             ROS2 migration experience.

•             Knowledge of perception, computer vision, SLAM, AI, sensor fusion.

•             Familiarity with simulation/visualization tools.

•             Agile development, Git, Behavior Tree experience.
