Head of Quality (Business Unit)

Level: Senior Manager / Deputy General Manager / General Manager

Location- Coimbatore(Tamil Nadu)

Purpose of the Job:

• Assume responsibility for Electronics Quality at Plant 1, overseeing all facets of quality management including Customer, Supplier, In-process, and Quality Management System (QMS) aspects.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Conduct analysis of supplier quality and ensure the excellence of incoming materials, particularly in the electronics domain.
2. Spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing the incoming quality of electronic components.
3. Lead Electronics Product Audits within the Business Unit, including:
   • Reviewing and approving audit reports
   • Conducting Dock audits and overseeing their reports
   • Reviewing dummy run reports
4. Take charge of product reliability within the Business Unit, including:
   • Monitoring test plans
   • Conducting joint analysis activities
5. Oversee Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities within the BU’s scope, encompassing:
   • Approval of Control Plans
   • Review and approval of Layout audit reports
   • Approval of gauges
6. Manage customer complaints effectively, particularly those related to zero kilometers (0 KMs), including:
   • Conducting root cause analysis
   • Initiating corrective and preventive actions
7. Analyze final rejections and approve corrective actions accordingly.
8. Foster the professional development of subordinates.

Desired Qualification:

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics).

Desired Experience:

• Over 18 years of experience in Quality Engineering with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
• Proficient in Plant Electronics Quality Management.
• Previous experience in the Auto-Electronics industry with expertise in PCB, SMT Lines, Troubleshooting, Circuit Analysis, Problem-solving skills/techniques, and Team building abilities. IPC Certification is desirable.
