The ARM Group is seeking to hire a full-time Manager – Battery (New Product Development) at one of our premier clients’ locations in Ghaziabad, UP.
Manager – Battery (New Product Development)
Location: Ghaziabad
Department: New Product Development (NPD) Reports To: Head of Department (HOD) Compensation: ₹12–₹15 LPA
Experience Required: Minimum 8-10 years in R&D, with proven expertise in designing and developing battery systems of at least 1 Megawatt-hour (MWh) capacity.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
Responsibilities:
Leadership in Battery System Design and Development
- Lead the design and development of new battery systems with a focus on high-performance and scalable technologies.
- Oversee the complete product lifecycle from concept to commercialization.
- Ensure alignment with business objectives and customer requirements during product development.
Research and Innovation
- Drive innovation in battery technologies, exploring new materials, systems, and methods to improve efficiency, energy storage, and sustainability.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analyze data to identify areas of improvement in battery systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, research, and advancements to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into new products.
Project Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Manage multiple NPD projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Collaborate with other departments, including manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless product development and production processes.
- Lead and coordinate project teams, ensuring clear communication and efficient execution of tasks.
Quality Control and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure battery systems meet all relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor testing processes, identifying issues, and implementing solutions to maintain high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure all products comply with industry regulations and certification requirements.
Team Management and Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage a dynamic team of engineers, designers, and technicians within the NPD department.
- Allocate tasks effectively based on team strengths and project requirements.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging team members to contribute new ideas and improvements.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, supporting their professional growth and development.
Strategic Planning and Resource Allocation
- Work closely with the HOD and senior management to define the strategic direction for new product development.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to ensure project goals are met without compromising on quality or timelines.
- Identify and manage risks associated with new product development, proposing strategies to mitigate them.
Budget and Cost Management
- Prepare and manage the NPD budget, ensuring efficient allocation of financial resources.
- Monitor project costs and expenses, identifying areas for cost savings while maintaining product quality and innovation.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record in R&D and battery systems development with at least 1 MWh capacity.
- Strong knowledge of battery chemistry, thermal management, electrical systems, and control mechanisms.
- Proficient in CAD software, simulation tools, and prototype testing methods.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving collaborative initiatives.
