The ARM Group is looking for Calibration Technician for our client in Decatur, Illinois

Position Summary:
The Calibration Technician is responsible for maintaining, testing, and repairing various instrumentation and equipment. This role ensures that instruments, gauges, and testing devices are accurately calibrated to provide precise readings and measurements. The Calibration Technician works in compliance with all relevant standards and performs regular calibration procedures to ensure that all equipment functions properly and meets industry requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and calibrate instruments or control systems across various environments.
- Maintain calibration records and input calibration data using software tools such as Calibration Manager.
- Utilize software such as MS Excel, Word, and maintenance management software (e.g., AMMS) for purchasing materials and completing validation documentation.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and change controls for new or existing equipment as needed.
- Coordinate and manage equipment calibrations to meet scheduled maintenance and validation completion dates.
- Perform calibrations in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and company SOPs.
- Order necessary materials and perform instrument and control system repairs or adjustments to ensure compliance with required standards.
- Respond to critical facility issues, including environmental monitoring, security, and fire alarm systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure an efficient and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external personnel to provide timely updates and avoid production delays.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Basic electrical and electronics trade school training, providing fundamental knowledge of tools and techniques.
- Alternatively, working experience with instrumentation may substitute formal training, subject to approval by Rising.
Job Prerequisites:
- Ability to meet attendance standards and work a 40-hour workweek, with the possibility of occasional overtime or additional hours.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including sitting, standing, walking, and operating equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, work in a team environment, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Physical Demands, Mental Requirements, and Work Environment:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Requires the use of hands to handle, finger, or feel tools and instruments.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision for reading work and using computer screens.
Mental Requirements:
- Ability to accurately hear instructions and communicate effectively in both quiet and noisy environments.
- Capable of applying deductive reasoning to solve complex issues.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage office stress effectively.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety and security practices.
Work Environment:
- Office and plant environments with exposure to moderate office or plant noise levels.
This position requires strong organizational skills, a quick mathematical ability, and the ability to respond promptly to facility issues while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
