Business Planner

The ARM Group is hiring a Business Planner for one of its clients in Charleston, SC.

Role:

The role involves overseeing the long-range planning (LRP) process, policy deployment, and managing cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of business strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, financial and manufacturing insights, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

· Create and execute company-wide policy plans ensuring effective cross-functional integration.

· Lead the development and annual update of the Long-Range Plan (LRP).

· Translate LRP into actionable annual policy deployment plans.

· Manage specific LRP and high-priority projects as assigned by top management.

· Establish and maintain a review-control mechanism for policy plans, task forces, and daily work management.

· Generate ECM insights and conduct variance analysis using QC story methodology.

· Develop and deliver Management Information System (MIS) reports to top leadership with strategic insights.

· Coordinate with Marketing, HR, and Finance to evaluate external risks and benchmark performance.

· Analyze industry and customer data to align sales and investment strategies quarterly.

· Foster cross-functional stakeholder engagement to align with organizational objectives.

· Create performance and benchmarking reports for US market trends.

  • Long Range Plan (LRP): Achievement vs Timeline – Annual
  • Annual Plan Execution: Monthly Reviews
  • MPCP Achievement: >75% Hit Ratio
  • Review Coordination & Follow-up: Weekly Hit Ratio
  • Management Audit Completion: Number of Closures
  • Special Project Execution: Achievement against plan

Decision-Making Authority

· Conduct internal business audits

· Recommend capital expenditure (CapEx) plans

· Propose new business acquisition opportunities

· Represent company in strategic customer meetings alongside Business Heads and Marketing

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Operations.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience in business planning, FP&A, or operations finance in a manufacturing or die casting setup.
  • Expertise in manufacturing cost structures, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and shop floor data systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to turn complex data into strategic business decisions.
